Cineform ASPECT or MainConcept Codec for SD Mpegs?
by ninetto on Jan 27, 2007 at 8:43:01 pm

Hello,
I will have to edit some SD-Mpeg-2 files in PPro 2.0, and I want to do this NATIVELY...

Does anyone know if the Cineform or MainConcept Mpeg Plug-ins will handle SD-Mpegs natively, without Premiere converting them to DV first?

Regards,
N. Makavejev

MainConcept does. Don't know about Aspect.

Aspect is for HDV. Not SD MPEG. MainConcept is probably your only choice.

Thanks much for the info!
With all theses flavors and distant relatives of MPEG it is sometimes hard to see thru the fog (of closed GOPs and thick rows of I-frames...)
