Audio Pops during audio crossfades
by Nathan King Miller on Mar 21, 2006 at 2:03:31 am

Hi

I'm completing a 2 hour feature documentary with Premiere Pro 1.5. It seems when I use a crossfade audio transition, that my effects for each clip - including a limiter - have no effect. Even worse, I hear a "pop" during the transition - often right where the transition begins.

Does anyone have a solution for this odd behavior? I exported a few short clips to see if the pop was still there, and it was present in both AVI and Quicktime clips.

It isn't present on every transition, but is particularly common in scenes with wind noise outside of a car.

Any thoughts or similar experiences with this? Thank you.

Looks like your audio is peaking for some reason. Use the audio mixer and reduce the audio levels to -6db.
