COW's video tutorials now iPad compitible
by Paolo Ciccone on May 6, 2010 at 1:49:03 pm
Ron, Abraham and I talked recently about the video tutorial situation on the COW and yesterday Abraham was able to deliver a solution that makes some videos playable on the iPad. A few of us tutorial makers use to deliver the videos in h.264, even though the COW uses Flash for playback. Well, all those videos now play perfectly on the iPad because now the COW recognizes the iPad browser and wraps this videos in HTML 5 instead of using the Flash player.
The Blender Survival Guide is an example. Richard Harrington's videos about Adobe CS5 is another. Ben Rollason's tutorials also work. I didn't check all of them, obviously, but this is a first step in integrating the iPad in the COW.

Yes, Paolo is right, Bessie is becoming iPad friendly. With Paolo's help, and Abraham's quick coding changes to the mechanism, we are now able to bring many of the COW's video tutorial authors to you. So far, they include authors and series like...
Paolo Ciccone's Blender Survival Guide
Richard Harrington's CS5 Series
Kevin McAuliffe's Boris FX Series
Ben Rollason's video tutorials
Arkadiy Demchenko's Maya Series
And more will be coming shortly as Paolo and Abraham are also working through the process of H.264 encoding of some of the other videos now in the Library.
Did I mention that both Paolo and Abraham are amazing? Oh, and workaholics?
