Just wondering if any filmmakers out there are using iPad for their work and if so how? I am a documentary filmmaker and am seriously thinking about getting an iPad for travel presentations, etc. But I still have not been able to determine how to maximize its potential. This despite the fact that I have read dozens of articles, gone to the Apple store for a demo, etc.

I apologize if the question is too vague.

Whenever I do a pitch meeting with a network / broadcaster for a new concept, I show it on my iPad. Much faster and easier than bringing a DVD or even a laptop and of course there's the "wow this looks amazing" factor.

VERY useful for this very thing and I also downloaded an app called Pocket Informant that I keep my entire schedule on now.

Good ideas. Thanks for sharing. Wonder if the iPad 2 will be out for Christmas!

I use the Movie Slate app all the time on shoots as a smart slate. You can also buy an add on in the app to pipe in LTC timecode in the headphone jack if you are on a multi cam shoot and want to jam sync timecode.

Can guarantee that iPad 2 will NOT be out for Christmas. We'll most likely hear about it in January for a ship date in April would be my guess.

Here's an iPad Teleprompter

There are also other apps for teleprompters on the app store.
