TV safety markers at 88%?

hi aLL,

I have a Sony LMD-1750W broadcast monitor with the markers set to :

4:3 / 88%


4:3 = gives me the 4:3 SD marker outlines

88% = I am using to give me 4:3 Center cut safe / tv safety marker outlines

is 88% the correct setting for 4:3 center cut safe?? (should it be 80%)

how do I find this out and equate the solution?

Thanks for the input. just to verify for others

I created a still of FCP title and action safe grid-lines, sent it out SDI to our Sony HD monitor and matched the markers up to this feed.

80% as well for title safe. Its so tight but it is what it is!
