I know about a month ago there was some talk about the new GTX 680 card. But has anyone had any success yet using a standard non-flashed 680 on Lion in Resolve with the sanctioned nVidia Drivers?

I'm looking to get one for Resolve and maybe some Mac Gaming, and using in Windows under a dual boot.

Thanks

No go for Mac. On par performance with 580 for resolve on pc. My recommendation is still 580 for now.

Well will it work fully still? Just no better than a $580? Or does it not even function?

Because if so, I figure I'll just get it now and hope for better drivers to come in the future and utilize it in windows for gaming and have it act as a 580 (power-wise) for Resolve.

On par performance with a gtx 580 on windows? Really? Is that tested!? That's surprising as it has many more cuda cores, is the core clock speed really an issue? I'm surprised!

Yep tested. The 680s do not excell at computational tasks (CUDA) it has something to do with the the lack of a hardware task controller. Seems nvidia wanted to differentiate the quadro line.

This might be improved in a driver update.

Or might not. If building a PC system the untested 690 card may be a better choice. Though you can buy three 580s for one 690. The Kepler quadros may hold much more promise.
