Gotta say, looks nice but a lot of things in this will make my job harder, less room for nodes, gallery and dynamics.
I was hoping for floating windows on 2nd monitor and frame blending speed warps and plugins, better noise reduction, bigger window for curves, I liked the bigger font and audio! They have done a great job although.
Thanks BM.

Of course I just bought the tutorial from Ripple Training and they've gone and changed the interface.
:)
I'm sure much of it is still valid and give a good foundation to learn the new features.

WOW, 250 days before Christmas! A lot on my wish list here!
One question though, do any of the improvements help with HSL selection while working in log space? I find the HSL keyed to be optimised for linear work.
Thank you!!

I was at NAB and saw the demo with Warren. Even played with the app. But I forgot to check if v9 adds the following capabilities...
Support for stills/feeeze frames referenced in XML/EDL/AAF
Support for alpha in V2 clips. Like text in a TGA with alpha and soft shadows.
Or maybe ProRes4444 clips with alpha perhaps.
Or maybe these exist in v8.2 Mac or Win.

I also spent some time with Warren at the BM booth. Nice guy!
Yes, V9 does support alpha channels embedded in clips. He demoed this for me by bringing a greenscreen shot with alpha in Prores 4x4 and Resolve used the mask for a perfect key. Thats a very nice addition.
I didn't think of asking about stills.
V9 looks great. Only one major item that I was somewhat disappointed by. The de-noise algorithms have not demonstrably been improved. Which is a bummer, as mostly I find it marginal at best, and mostly have to avoid using it when I would love to.

Embedded alpha is only on ProRes 4444 right now, but I talked to Peter at the booth, and more formats are coming. We specifically talked about TIFF sequences, which I'm guessing is the main thing that's needed.

Does anyone know if they finally allow us to duplicate an existing session? I need to have alternate versions of a sequence that I can very quickly load up. Need the ability to show multiple versions of a scene to a client (without having to switch all the grades manually shot by shot).
I see that they added some support for Avid motion effects through the AAF workflow. Anyone know if they added the ability to link by source clip name? Most of my shows that I get don't have tape name (reel name) anymore since everything is file based?
Last question.. any word on support for any of the older panels (Tangent CP100)?
Thanks all.
