I represent "MacVidCards"

We went to a great deal of trouble to write EFI roms for GT120, GTX285 2 GB and GTX470/GTX480. None of these cards existed for Mac until we wrote these EFI roms. We have received a "Thank You" email from BMD as a result of our efforts.

These roms have all been stolen by some bozo in Taiwan.

He has even copied our ads and targeted the "DaVinci Resolve" market.

He knows nothing about the cards or software as evidenced by the poor descriptions written in broken English in his ads. He is a liar and a thief.

In fact these stolen cards still show our company name in the System Profiler. We have already gotten an email looking for support for a card sold by this clown since our name appears onscreen. We will NOT be supporting stolen cards.

I wish all of you the best luck with your endeavors. Buy whatever you wish, but please not from this guy.

Is it possible to inform eBay about this fraud ?
I would try to get them removed from the listing first.

I hesitate to make much fuss with Ebay.

It is sort of like Apple and that Daisey guy, the more fuss you make, the more attention the bozo gets.

When he first listed one of the GTX480s I posted on MacRumours and here is what he had to say:

"Dear MacVidCards:
Thank you for paying attention to me.
I bought that GTX 480 card through my friend because want to see that amazing abilitily about writing EFI rom.I really can't realize that.

Don't worry about that.
I will respect to your effort.
I promise that won't post the GTX 480 rom on any website and won't sell another gtx 480 card on ebay store.
About the other cards for mac pro,I search many websties to find their rom.
I think it would be OK to sell them.
What cards I am selling will affect your effort, please let me know,I will remove it on ebay.
Hope can make friend with you(you are a pro)."

When I noticed he had listed a dozen more of my cards, I wrote him a nasty email and promised to out him as both a liar AND a thief.

His tone changed just a touch:

"Should I afraid of that when you expose my name on some forums?
I don't care about that at all.

As soon as you do that,I will post all of mac roms (included GT 480 & GTX 285 2GB .....) and detail know-how.
Maybe all business will go down.
Who cares ?
Honor ? Just leave it by yourself.

I will sell these cards to someone who needs it.
When ? Who know ?

- macgraphicsfan"

He is a dirt bag, pure and simple.

Anyone who has bought a card from him, if "MacVidCards" is in your system profiler please return card and demand refund through Paypal. If you can leave negative feedback that details the TRUTH...ie that cards he sells use stolen rom, I can offer a healthy discount on a replacement. (35%) I am not asking anyone to do anything dishonest, far be it. I am not afraid of the truth, he is.

Sorry to hear this is happening to you David. I know how much we've all benefited from the hard work you've done. If there is anything we can do to help... do let us know.

What if we complain to ebay about this guy? Does that reduce the burden on you?

Is there anything else we can do?

For what it's worth I'll happily tell anyone to avoid this guy like the plague.
