V4HD stuck in Standalone Mode

My V4HD has been running faultlessly for a few months and the last three days it's locked itself in standalone mode! My G5 won't see it and I've tried reinstalling software, going back to earlier firmware, etc etc.
Doesn't see it with Firewire 400 or 800 attached so can only assume unless this has happened to anyone else that the Firewire section has gone wrong and it just isn't seeing it.
I've tested the G5 and it see's drives and other items on all firewire ports so it doesn't seem to be that.
Any ideas or should I box it up and ship it back (at least it's still under warranty). Great bit of kit apart from this small fault.

Neil,
Things to try:
Factory reset. This is done from the front panel of the V4HD.
Disconnect all other Firewire devices from the computer and connect the V4HD directly.
If possible, try connection to a different computer.
If none of this helps, you can call MOTU at 617 576 2760 and ask for a V4HD technician. The tech can double check and if needed, arrange a repair/replacement.

I've tried all the above bar running it on a different computer however will attempt to stick it into my Powerbook today and see if that see's it.
Interestingly it won't allow me to do a factory reset (or to be more precise when I do one, nothing happens - all the changes I have made stay in it's memory)
