Art of the Edit | HBO's Digital Transition
HBO holds the highest reputation for television image quality, often based on an aesthetic very closely tied to their use of film. The stakes as they move toward digital pipelines are especially high as they very carefully consider their next steps, for both production and post.

Good find, I'm not surprised though.

It is really interesting to get behind the scenes at a company like HBO which obviously is focused on quality. Others can certain learn from their measured approach to the transition...

I agree. It is really nice to hear that they don't have everything figured out, but they are actively embracing and looking for new ways of moving forward. They also encourage their folks to go out and try new things. It's really refreshing to hear. I like it!

Honestly, I think most organizations are feeling their way around, but few people are willing to "go public" in discussing this fact. HBO has done everyone a favor in showing that it is a process, not a single decision.
