 | How could I format my Compact Flash cards leaving it as factory state?
by Daniel Tundis on Jun 1, 2012 at 7:29:17 pm |
Whenever I plug my in one of my SanDisk Extreme 90MB/s Compact flash cards into my Aja Ki-Pro Mini it will only recognize my the card as unformatted media. When I try to format those cards I get stuck at the formatting window. I am looking for a driver or utility to restore my CF cards.
Notes: This is not happening with all of my CF cards, only a few. The only compact flash cards that are being effected by this were used in a sound devices were used in a Sound Devices Pix 240. I can see media that still remains on the cards when I use a reader on my MacBook.

Have you tried formatting on your Mac to HFS+ using disk utility, and then formatting in the KiPro?

PIX Recorders format the cards as UDF. IIRC, KiProMini formats as FAT32. Both formats are Mac/PC compatible.
You will need to reformat the cards in the recorder before using them in that recorder.

KiPro is hfs+ actually.
I'd try using disk utility to format the card first, then use KiPro.

I just went therough the same thing. Nikon formatted CF cards wouldn't re-format in KiPro mini. I formatted them in Disk Utility using Mac OS extended. (not journaled) They work fine now.
