Very interesting-- wouldn't have much ability to vary interocular for hyperstereo but would make a great design for an all around camera that gets most shots one needs in a compact size. Hope they continue this development. Not sure why the 240fps rate is neccessary, other than to be able to do high speed work.

When polarized glasses are not used, viewers with still be able to see natural 2D images, as the disparity of the images for left and right eyes are within the range that human eyes can recognize as a blur.
Which seems to me indicates a very small differential (it is one lens, after all), largely negating good stereo depth.

Well if you're in LA, you'll have a chance to see it soon.
Yoshihiko Kuroki with Sony Japan will be giving a presentation on the new
Sony HFR 3D camera at the upcoming SMPTE Conference on Thursday, Oct. 29th
from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM.
"The 3D images shot by HFR 3D Camera will be demonstrated with 240fps 4k
SXRD projectors which has been also developed for technical study."
