Stereo3D Toolbox is an FxFactory powered plug-in designed to work with Adobe(r) After Effects(r) CS3 / CS4, Apple(r) Final Cut Pro(r), Apple(r) Motion(r) and Apple Final Cut(r) Express applications. With Stereo3D Toolbox, artists can easily output their media to a wide range of Stereoscopic 3D formats (side by side, over/under, checkerboard, interlace, anaglyph) as well as manage the demuxing of side by side, interlace and over/under formatting.

Re: Anyone tried Stereo3D Toolbox?? by Arnie Schlissel on Aug 28, 2009 at 2:28:46 am
I've tried it. It definitely works & speeds up my workflow.
What seems to work best is to sync & edit your left & right eyes together in FCP then send the timeline into Motion.
Consolidate your left & right eyes into separate groups in Motion, then apply the Dashwood plugin to an empty layer or a color solid and drop they left and right layers into the left & right image wells. Adjust, tweak, done.

Stereo3D Toolbox with Hyundai W240SP? by Russell Lasson on Sep 1, 2009 at 12:01:12 am
I've been able to use Stereo3D Toolbox in both FCP and AE in anaglyph mode, but I can't seem to get the settings right to have it work with the Hyundai W240SP. Tried with both Kona 3 over component and IOHD over HDMI, but it hasn't worked yet.
I've had the monitor working with the Davio, so I know it will work.
Any thoughts?

Hi Russell.
I emailed you as well but thought this was a valuable discussion for the thread.
I know that the plugin works with Hyundai IT's S465D in side by side, over/under and interlace modes. However I do not have a W240S to test so I'm not sure what type of input it specificially requires. It may not accept the same formats its big 46" brother does.
I took a peek at the instruction manual. http://files.hyundaiit.com:2010/download/en_man_3d_wseries_w240s.pdf Unfortunately it isn't very specific about the 3D modes but there is one clue. It says the output is interlaced. This leads me to believe that this model also uses the Xpol screen.
It appears that it is a 16x10 display (not 16x9) and if it uses an Xpol screen like the S465D then it will have to be in its native resolution of 1920x1200 to work properly. I doubt you will be able to get your Kona to sync to this resolution so you will have to use your built in graphics card and set the resolution to 1920x1200 at 60Hz.
Now in Final Cut Pro switch from Kona to Digital Cinema Desktop Preview RAW. This will maintain the 1920x1080 line for line of your source clips and letterbox at 16x9 within your 16x10 1920x1200 monitor.
Now just set your output mode in the plugin to interlace and it should work. If the 3D effect is inverted then you will have to turn on the option to switch to right eye on odd lines.
You are using 1920x1080 source clip resolution right?

For the 24 and 22 inch Hyundai you need to the plug-in to output Line Interleave mode Left image is on the first Scanline, Right on the Second, and the pattern repeats. It is called Horizontal Interlace.
You want to set your GPU Resolution to 1900 x 1200 60Hz for ideal 3D
Also the 24" has a native 2D resolution of 1920 x 1200 / stereoscopic 3D resolution 1920 x 600 per eye.
You also want to make sure your not getting Pseudo Stereo, you need to move the line scan up or down 1 Pixel in with OSD..

Hi,
i would like to know if the solution "huyndai w220s (22") + FCP + Stereo Tool Box" is ok for editing in real time. My question is simple: is it working ? Because i plan to buy a W220S to edit in realtime in FCP (after merging the clips with STB if i understand ).
Sorry for my english :-)
Thank you
