XMPilot tool for Android released but will not work on most devices

Sony has released XMPilot tool App for android, but have limited it to only usable on Sony devices.
Whats the point in limiting the Android version to only Sony devices when they are a tiny percentage of the Android devices already out there, also when they have already released a version for Apple devices. Looks like I'll have to change from my HTC Android phone to a iPhone! Bad move Sony !!

Am i the only one that thinks that Sony limiting the Android version of a great tool / app to only Sony devices is wrong when they release a Mac version of the same tool?

If they did not release the Mac version I could understand why Sony would like to get people to use their products with this app. But as they released an IOS version then you have to decide on either Sony Android or IOS.
