by on Jul 8, 2011 at 6:29:42 am

Without getting into the why and how it happened...is it possible to rebuid the folder structure if all what i have left is the MXF file ??? if not, then is there a way to open it in FCP without its proper original folder structure

This was shot an Xdcam HD F700, the client basically just kept the MXF file thinking that he does not need all the other folders...duh!!! there's no audio on this shoot.

The XDCAM Transfer plugin can read loose MXF files. You can download v 2.12 from sony.com/xdcam-downloads. Put the MXFs in a folder and add that folder as a source in Transfer.

Is this also true for canon c300 file structure? Can Avid ingest just the lone .mxf video (which plays audio and video back on vlc) without all the other folders?
