Chromatic Aberration... how much have you seen?
by Mark Raudonis on Jun 27, 2009 at 6:25:45 pm

We're struggling with some pretty nasty chromatic aberration generated by the PDW300 & 700 series cameras. My question to the community is how often have you encountered chromatic aberration? (Bad enough to have to fix in post). If you've seen it, can you characterize what setting made it worse or better, i.e. wide angle lense, wide open aperature, exteriors, interiors... basically when is it most obvious.

Finally, short of using a different lense or camera, are there any tried and true preventative measures that
you'd care to share.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

hi there

we have experienced some extreme haloing with some fujinon lenses.
in combination with the sony powerHAD CCD's. it's wise to experiment with different lenses. our lens supplier explained that this is due the microlenses which are glue's on top of the powerHAD CCD's.

greet
Maurice
