1080 end credit scroll problem
by Rudy Manning on Aug 27, 2009 at 7:40:52 pm

Did the opening sequence for this film and now doing the end credits. I'm having huge issues which I haven't been able to figure out and now we're under the gun. The credits are done in 1920 by 1080 at 23.98 fps. The codec the editor is using is Apple Pro (HQ). Type is white on black..really simple.

I keep getting this stuttering movement up and down as the type scrolls up.

Here is a link to h264 version.
File size is: 33MB

Here just a few of the things that we've tried.
- Using an exp?ression to calculate the pixels per second to help with the sub-pixel issue (DIDN'T WORK)
- Made sure that the speed was a even multiple (DIDN'T WORK)
- Reduced contrast (DIDN'T WORK)
- Changed length but the length is locked (which only helps if it's about 25% slower)
- Used numerous anti-jitter fx (DIDN'T WORK)
- Tired blurring type slightly (DIDN'T WORK)
- Rendered at 30FPS and then re-exported back out to 24FPS (DIDN'T WORK)
- Animated the credit in Final Cut Pro using Boris credit scroll (DIDN'T WORK)
- Animated the credit in Motion (DIDN'T WORK)
- We now added a third column so that the speed doesn't need to be as fast but at the slower speeds you can see a subtle bump every second or there
- I don't know if this is information that is helpful but neither in AE or FCP is there a setting for 1080 at 23.98fps. And of course it's out of title safe but we can fix that.
- used simple basic shapes , squares etc. and scrolled that and it still does the same jump and flicker

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!!!!
