Is it possible to render a mov with an alpha channel from Nuke?

Yes.

Make a Write module. Make sure the channels has "rgba" selected. And make sure that alpha is checked. Select the file type to be mov. Select a codec that writes alpha channels - such as Animation.

Thanks for responding Chris, I thought it should be this simple but for some reason it doesn't seem to work if I do this for an image sequence it works but when I try it with a mov there is no alpha? I am running Nuke 5 on an intel mac

Have you tried it yourself?

thanks

AL
