Importing 3d camera data, what file formats can i use in nuke?
by Nicole Hekel on Jul 14, 2009 at 2:25:03 am

Just coming from After Effects where I usually import .RPF files to get 3d camera data, I am noticing in Nuke in the camera properties I only have the option to import .chan data.

Is it possible to extract .RPF 3d camera data in Nuke? Or do I have to export the 3d data as .chan in my 3d application?

if you are using nuke 5.1

you can import camera data from FBX file, also you can import your geometry and locators if you need. so you should export your cameras from you 3d app as a fbx file.

in earlier versions of nuke, you need .chan files. if you use maya there is some mel scripts that can do the conversion for you.
