compressor freezes

I am having a recurring problem of compressor freezing during a full scan of assets.It is totally random and is not reflected in the fcsvr logs. It is cleared by restarting the server it is running on.I am running the latest software and am running it on a new server with 8gb ram and 1tb local storage for proxies and a 20 tb xsan volume.

Are you using the Default proxie setting in FCP Server? or are you using some kind of distributed encoding? if so how many instances are you using on your server, I take it it's just the one server?

Yes we are using a default proxie setting.Also we are using a matrox h264 board but the problem exist before its install.The current matrox driver do not allow for custom sized h264's.I am using the server to do the encodes which may be a mistake.It is a xserver brand new 8 core with 12gb of ram in it.It just freezes fcsvr is fine when the server is restarted it picks up were it left off without any corruption to the database
