Cannot open Final Cut Server client app / java problem?

Hi,
Maybe someone here knows. After updating to 10.5.7 and the latest version of Java, I now cannot open the Final Cut Server client java program to access my FC server. Every time I attempt to open it now, it now tries to open the Final Cut Server.jnlp file with smultron, or espresso, or a bunch of my other web programs that have nothing to do with FCS. Has anyone else had this problem? It's not only my computer, after the updates I'm having a similar failure to open the client on our xserve, which is running our final cut server software. Anybody else having a problem like this? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

YES!! I have just started having the same problem. Opening the jnlp file spawns TextEditor on my server. On my MacBook, it starts Java in my XP Virtual Machine!
Its obviously an association problem, but I can't figure out how to fix it. A complete show stopper!!

I found this and it fixed it:
On a .jnlp file you're trying to use Java Web Start on, change the "Open with:" to /System/CoreServices/Java Web Start. That's what appears to be opening the .jnlp files I download on my Mac. I'm assuming your .jnlp files are being opened by TextEdit, or some other app...
Cheers,

I started having this problem today and I look forward to trying this solution. I did notice the problem went away when I switched to a different user on the computer, but I'm still curious why it stopped opening in the first place.
