Final Cut What? Server? Pro? Version? Operating system?
Compared to a Mac Pro, it will be very slow.
For small SD projects it will be fine. It also depends on your storage. We did a lot of uncompressed SD work on G4's a few years back.

for your help... SD is actually all I need the G4 for...
I have a G5 with avid for my bigger projects... but my girlfriend wants me to hang out with
her more... so I found an old G4 and put it in her house... I will put final cut on the G4 and work on smaller SD projects when I'm at her house... Killing two birds with one stone.
