Traits and Productions

Is it possible to setup FCServer so that users can only see whats inside of their production? When I look in permission settings I only see the option to restrict the user from viewing "All elements" or "All Packages". How would I go about restricting their view to just the packages or elements that belong to that user?

Or maybe this is just wishful thinking.

Any insight?

The only trick I can see would be to change the way you view production and media types. In the permission set you can adjust the trait permissions for each type of media asset and production.

If you stop viewing production as a kind (commercial, show, etc) and instead view it as a client category (pdq_post_house, xyz_advertising_co, etc) then you could use the trait permissions to control access to the production so each company only had access to their own productions. You would have to do the same sort of thing with media assets so they couldn't see the wrong assets.

I've handled this by:

1) Administration
2) Permission set: pick the set to edit
3) Asset Filter: for my client I was able to filter based on the custom metadata set that I created for them so I picked "Equals" and the name of that set
4) Production Filter: for my client I have their acronym in all of their Titles, so I filter based on that "Contains" and that acronym

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the input. I was just missing the easy stuff in the Asset and production filters because I was getting so deep into the Trait permissions.
