Trouble scanning Library Device
by Hans Damkoehler on Oct 7, 2009 at 9:39:28 pm

I have a newly set up fcs system and I am having trouble with my Library device scan. I've added media to the library device and set the ADD ONLY scan for every 10 minutes. Nothing has been added to the library. I get this message within the log:

scan complete,
captured 26 directories,
scanned a total of 1 directory,
error occurred during scan for 26 subdirectories,
base of scan was: Device Library

Now, since we use these files alot (stock footage) I've placed them in folders within the Library. I have the Recursion limit set to 0 so I'm not sure what the deal is.

I'm thinking of getting rid of my folder scheme but that I don't want to do that if I don't have to because fcs uses those directories within searches, etc. Much easier than entering metadata.

Thoughts?

Thanks.

Try setting the Scan Mode to "Full". Don't worry, it's not going to rescan whatever has already been collected on the first pass. It should just pick up whatever has been added on successive scans.

By the way, thanks John, this worked great.
