Earth Zoom: Zoom and Diagonal movement
by Tobias Gommer on Jun 13, 2008 at 11:32:55 am

After completing the well known tutorial by andrew kramer about earthzooming (http://www.videocopilot.net/tutorials.html?id=15) I wanted to do a diagonal zoom. For example: The starting state is a top view of Holland, and i want to zoom into a town in the north of Holland. The original teqnique only shows how to dig straight down.

My problem with this is if I capture screenshots from Google Earth, (starting closeby and zooming out, thus from the north(close) to the center of holland (country view), the zoomed in result will not be centered in the middle of the screen.

Is there a way the smoothly zoom out and move the 'cameras' position at the same time? Hope some one can give me some starting point hints.
