Vista SP1 sees 4 GB RAM

I know we were talking about using the 64-bit version of Vista to see all 4 gigs of RAM, and also rightly bringing up the trouble that 64-bit can cause.
So this is pretty slick news
.
Anybody who asks if there's a solution for this problem on Windows XP....Vista SP1 IS the solution to this problem on XP. :-)
Not just MSFT of course -- true for every software company that makes money off of upgrades.

But does this actually improve performance?
Does this mean that applications can use the additional RAM?
