automatically update placed files
by Donal Hanafin on Sep 9, 2009 at 1:30:10 pm

Hello all,
I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to import a photoshop file into a new photoshop file and then have the new file update automatically if there are any changes made to the imported file. The file>place function sort of works but if I make a change to the imported file and save it, it doesn't appear in the linked page. I'm using CS2, is this possible? This function is in illustrator so I'm hoping it's available in photoshop

Thanks,
Donal

No, unlike Illustrator, once you move a file into another in Photoshop it becomes part of this new file and it is completely independent from he original.
