Opening a File with an alpha channel
by steven galvano on Nov 24, 2007 at 5:58:00 am

I created a high-rez animation in Motion. I outputted a single frame as a tiff for PS. I plan to do some promotional work with it.
I outputted it with an alpha channel so it would NOT have a black matte background.

When I opened it PS it had a black matte!
If I open it in fireworks, it opens with a matte-less checkerboard bkgd.
That's what I want -- but in PS!!

Please help!

Thanks :)
Steven

When you open the file in PS have you gone to the 'channels' palette to see if the the Alpha Channel is present? If it is you should be able to select this and remove the black background.
