Clipfinder doesnt read IN/OUT in XML
by erik fabler on Aug 4, 2009 at 1:08:23 pm

Ive been editing a project in FCP. Footage shoot with Red. Editing with proxy (H), collected thru Clipfinder.

Editing is done and I want to start colorcorrection. Exported an xml from fcp and imported in Clipfinder. All clips shows but not the in and out points. Clipfinder render the whole clip. Cant find anywhere the information about in and outpoint. Seems really stupid to not be able to just render the frames I use...

Anyone know how to solve this with Clipfinder? Is it possible?

Eric,

You need to read the manual.

You have to use a command called RUN WORKFLOW ON FCP XML.

Then you can import the NEW XML it into a program like COLOR and start Color correction from the R3D files.

sorry if I was not clear in my previous post.
Ive read the manual.
Ive been following the guide in the help-pages.

The problem is that I have a clip that is 5 minutes long
and I only use 5 seconds. When I render the file from the exported
xml from FCP in Clipfinder, the whole clip will be rendered, not only the 5 seconds that I use.

I have downloaded a beta-version of Clipfinder from the their webpage.
In the betaversion the in- and outpoints works...

Erik,

I was not suggesting that you did not read the manual, but that clipfinder's manual keeps changing and they release a new Beta almost every week.

I hope this has worked out for you.
