Proxie files will not, do not playback in Real TIme at 2k on the fastest tower mac.

It is a combination of debayering and processor speed that the computer can not keep up with.

M or P proxies are better.

[bruno silva] "then exported as a quicktime.."

What codec did you export them to? What type of drive are you trying to play them from? Internal notebook drives aren't very reliable for playing back media.

For real- you're probably way beyond the specs of your drives. That's what stuttering and jerky playback means. Get a nice external SATA or FW800 RAID and you'll get better performance. Still probably not going to be 2K full speed on a MacBook Pro tho....
