DVC Pro HD interpretation
by Jim Dodson on Sep 14, 2008 at 9:02:08 pm

I am trying to track a DVC Pro HD clip. After Effects thinks it is 960 x 720 (with a pixel aspect ratio of 1.33), while Monet brings the clip in at 1280 x 720... When I tell Monet it is 960 x 720 it just zooms in and stretches the shot horizontally... What am I doing wrong??

Thanking you in advance!!

What I would recommend for this is treating the footage in AE and mocha as 720x1280 with no pixel aspect correction.

I've seen this before - it is not something that you are doing wrong.
Its the way QT and AE handle DVC HD.

Forcing both apps to deal with it as normal 720 HD should work fine.

Sure! I haven't had time to investigate but if anyone would like to share why DVCProHD is interpreted that way by some apps, that would be appreciated...
