Motor STILL Crashing
by Mitch Nixon on Jul 2, 2008 at 5:41:20 am

Well it has been a while since I used motor, and now that the project I am working on is in real
need for the software, I am attempting to roto again.

Motor crashes about every 10 minutes for many reasons eg:

Rendering a track of more than 800frames...I can't let it track for an hour while I do something else
Now I am tracking a few hundred at a time.

Control clicking layers, to activate de- activate etc

Sometimes when one track layer over laps another

This is making the task MUCH slower.

I am running a Macpro 8 Processor 6GB Ram out putting to a firewire 800 RAID 1 drive
Leopard 10.5.3 Motor 1.1.3

Any help appreciated

Thanks

Hi Mitch,
Are you still having issues? If you want to post the shot, I can take a look. In general, I would say that rotoing 800 frames of talking heads just seems like a lot of work even with motor. How often are you adding keyframes? How much motion is in the shot?

Without seeing what you are trying to do, it is difficult to comment.
