Hi Aharon,

First of all, thanks for your fantastic tutorial about Mocha!
It's going pretty well, but i have a little problem;

1. I have some footage:
http://www.grafisch.deltion.nl/~jouri_verhoeven/cc/tracking_1.jpg

2. I import this footage in Mocha, and it gets all pixelated at the edges of the building!
http://www.grafisch.deltion.nl/~jouri_verhoeven/cc/tracking_2.jpg

Do you have ANY idea what this can be!?

Atleast thanks for reading.

Cheers, Jouri.

From looking at this quickly the first thing I see is the odd size of the image 717x513. I loaded the image up in MOcha and I see what you are saying but when I zoom in a bit more I see the aliasing going away. So my guess is that is more a result of aspect ratio.

Thank you very much for your reaction.
About the aspect ratio, here it's saying 720 x 576, PAL.
http://www.grafisch.deltion.nl/~jouri_verhoeven/cc/tracking_4.jpg
And, also, this is hapening to ALL my movie's that I import to Mocha!
So i'm pretty stuck here, because the noise affects the noise.

One other detail, if i export the movie out of Mocha, the movie is all clear again :S.

Cheers

Not exactly sure what is going on there. Mocha detects the file size and then renders the same file size (which you have proven by rendering clean frames). As Billy was saying its probably just the viewer showing noise which it might do if set an unusual aspect.

Are you in fact working on PAL clips? Are they interlaced?
If the clip is PAL 720x576 what does the film tab say for size and aspect ratio?

You to, thanks for you reaction.

Here, the complete progress of what i'm doing.
I'm using this footage for this example: (this time NTSC)
http://www.grafisch.deltion.nl/~jouri_verhoeven/cc/example_footage_videocop...

These are my steps:
http://www.grafisch.deltion.nl/~jouri_verhoeven/cc/ex_1.jpg
http://www.grafisch.deltion.nl/~jouri_verhoeven/cc/ex_2.jpg
http://www.grafisch.deltion.nl/~jouri_verhoeven/cc/ex_3.jpg
http://www.grafisch.deltion.nl/~jouri_verhoeven/cc/ex_4.jpg
http://www.grafisch.deltion.nl/~jouri_verhoeven/cc/ex_5.jpg
http://www.grafisch.deltion.nl/~jouri_verhoeven/cc/ex_6.jpg
http://www.grafisch.deltion.nl/~jouri_verhoeven/cc/ex_7.jpg

Ending up with bad footage again..
Again, no matter WHAT footage i use..

Hello everybody,

first I would like to thank you for this grate tutorial.
But I have a problem with transfering the corner pin data from mokey to AE. I always get a failure messege that sais "Invalid clipboard form. Corner Pin Effect not found".
I already found an old cow forum thread with the same problem, but the answer from Imagineer Software wasn't a big help.

I followed the instructions of the tutorial but it didn't work.
So would be grate if somebody could help me.

Thanks in advance.

How are you copying and pasting teh data to AE? There was an issue that pupped up after the 10.4 build of OS X that "broke" the copy to clipboard option in the Imagineer apps that we need to fix. What does work is saving to a file and copying from the file and pasting.

You do need to make sure that the frame rates are the same in both applications before exporting and importing or else your paste on your layer will be off.

Hey guys, I read the tutorial and followed along but I still have this problem. Take a look at this video I made -

Now in the scene where I hit away the bullets, I want to composite bullet holes in the wall behind me. How can I do this with Mocha or, what tool would I need to put the bullet marks there and have them behaving realistically enough?

You would not do any comps in mocha as it does not have that ability. You would either have to do it in Monet or any other compositing app of your choice.

OK I get you, so does this mean that I will have to buy Monet and use that whenever I want to put blood or bullet holes on a wall or table? If so, then why didn't the tutorial instructor use Monet to composite the video to the laptop screen instead of Mocha seeing that the effect that we both wanted to achieve was similar?

I believe if I remember correctly that the tutorial of the computer screen track was also demonstrating how you export that track from Mocha into AfterEffects for the final composite. No smoke and mirrors there, it was a pure demonstration of workflow that most people will encounter.

As I mentioned, you don't have to buy monet to comp the elements into your shot, although I would love it if you did, but rather you can use After effects, Shake, combustion, etc. to do your comp work.

Well my problem with it is that when previewed my work in Mocha using one of the sample composite images, it looked perfect but when I went to AE, it got the perspective down and whatnot, but it still seemed to have that "floating" effect.

I made sure that I was suing the same frame rate, started at frame 1, pasted the data at frame 1... I followed the tutorial to a T...still no dice :'(

Any suggestions?

Let us know both the mocha project details and the AE project details. Are you working at 24P?

In mocha check under the clip tab for the frame rate and image size.

In AE what is the project settings? What is the clip's frame rate?
