Digital Media Device

Hello,
I am currently working for a small company which is deploying video/image files to digital media device with a 16:9 video screen on it. The screen for all I can tell, is similar to that which you would find in a car. The display itself has a screen resolution of 1440(H) x 234(V), while the Dot Matrix is 0.107(H) x 0.372(V). The display, as well as the internal media player are both set to NTSC.
My problem is that my screens, when displayed on the device, are either coming out stretched too wide or too tall. I have been experiemnting and experimenting with image sizes, but with no luck. We are deploying ads on this device, so it's pertinent that everything be displayed 100% accurately.
Theoretically I should be able to just create my image screens and videos with an NTSC DV Widescreen aspect ratio, and they should display poroperly, correct? Or am I missing something. Any help would be greatly apprectiated. Let me know if additional information is needed to accurately diagnose this problem.

Hi Ken,
I don't have any personal experience with this device but I would try feeding it a video source that you know looks correct on another device just to make sure the device itself isn't faulty.
Stranger things have happened. Let us know what you figure out.

Just wanted you to know I figured out the problem.
My problem was this: our monitor that is on our device is basically just a simple 16:9 field monitor. The screen resolution is 1440 x 234, Dot Matrix is 0.107 x 0.372. I was creating a 720 x 480 NTSC DV Widescreen image file which was then displaying stretched horizontally on the device. I didn
