I don't know the right terminology to describe what's happening to me, but this is a picture of my screen:

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b316/vh3/Vegas.png

As you can see I'm almost done editing this video, but everything I have already made won't show. I tried to save it and only the audio was saved.

You know how you can see some thumbnails of your clip on the editing lines? All I get is that empty pink box. The video clips on the editing lines are there with the transitions, but I can't watch them. All the clips have come from the same main file (which you can see is loaded and able to play fine.

HOW do I fix this!? It's driving me crazy.
At this rate I can't successfully edit anything.

You have either renamed or relocated the folder in which
all your original video files are located. Close Vegas and
reopen the project, you should then be prompted to locate them.

Thank you for your quick response.

Instead of getting the locate file pop-up I'm getting these two:

Could you please provide us with full resolution screen captures? I really can read the type on that small image. Use the photo upload button here at the COW instead of using a 3rd party service.

OK, now I can see that you're editing WMV files. This is a bad idea. What other types of files are you editing? As you can see by the error, Vegas can't handle the audio in WMV fiels so it needs to build audio proxies and the proxy creation is failing for some reason. The best thing to do is not edit WMV files with Vegas. WMV is a highly compressed delivery format, not a good editing format.

What you might want to do is convert the WMV files into another format that is easier to edit and replace them in the Project Media. You can do this by creating a new project, place the WMV file on the timeline and render to Sony MXF. Then go to the WMV media in your original project, right-click and select "Replace" to replace them with the MXF files. This will edit a lot smoother (assuming you can render them from a clean project)
