Hi guys.

I have a project with this settings =

1280 X 720
29.970 NTSC
Pixel aspect ratio 1.000 square
Frame rate 30.000
Bit rate 10.000

Audio 44.100 24 bits

The problems is, it's about 9 minutes long, I rendered it with the same values of project and it has 753MB!
Why so many youtube HD videos are about 70-150 MB but mine is so big?
How can I make it smaller without changing rendering settings?
Thanks.

What format are you rendering to?
What version of Vegas do you have?

Try the MainConcept AVC/AAC with the following custom settings.
If it's still too big, lower the bit rate.

Tomorrow I'll try that.
Thanks Mike ;)
It took 4 hours to render to WMV.
Now I'm rendering to MPG1 and it's showing it'll take only 2 hours.
I'm not a pro about video but those differences are huge.
Can you tell me something about them?
I mean about size/quality and uploading clips to youtube.

Thanks Mike ;)
It gave me a 300MB file, really smaller than 750 but still big.
Another guy told me to turn off all video files RESAMPLE and vegas will render faster and size will be even smaller.Do you know something about that?

[Another guy told me to turn off all video files RESAMPLE and vegas will render faster and size will be even smaller.]
......If you want faster render times you simply need to
get a faster more powerful system, diddle daddling with
settings etc, aint gonna be of any major improvement.

The only setting i would recommend you changing to get
a bit more speed in rendering is ; Under the Video tab
of the Project Properties, change Full-resolution rendering
quality
to Good. (However, if pictures are on the timeline
to render, its better to have it at Best.

As Mike recommended to you, lower the bit rate and you
will get a smaller file size with still decent quality.

I don't care too much about rendering time, the problem is the size.
Those Mike settings gave me a video with bad quality compared to WMV.
Why we can download 700 mb movies(around 2 hours long) in the net and my 10 minutes clip only with pictures is 750mb?How can I make it smaller without loosing too much quality?

Did you tried Rendering using the Sony AVC format?
Thats my preferred render format for media destined
for online.

No Steve, I'm a musician so my life is about recording audio, I just started making my own clips reviewing gear and of my own songs.
Could you share some settings?
Thanks.

That file size is in the ballpark of only what you can
possibly get in fairly good quality. You can however
further lower the bit rate in the custom render settings,
(but as you know, that reduces quality).

Try changing the bit rate from 8,000,000 to 4,000,000 and see
how that comes out.

If you are uploading to YouTube it really does not matter since they re-compress and process everything that gets uploaded. Since they reprocess the videos, you want the video you upload to be a very high bitrate which with result in better quality video. I upload most of my stuff to youtube at 1280x720 at 10,000,00bps which usually results in a 4-5GB file for 1 hour and does take awhile to upload but I upload them at night.

Those are the same settings I posted.

Steve gave me.
