Hi,

I will edit seven video interviews in one project. Each interview has around 2 hours. The audio was recorded externally and then synced through PluralEyes.

My issue is that I am trimming all the interviews and each time I send a piece to timeline the original audio is what follows the video. I mean, it seems the new synced audio by PluralEyes just work on the tracks, but the media still attached to old audio.

I would like to work with video + new synced audio (the old audio doesn't matter anymore). I am thinking on two ways of dealing with it and I would appreciate help to understand what way would be better. Maybe there are other ways as well:

a) I have created seven different projects in Vegas (each project is related to one raw interview, without editing work, just the new audio synced by PluralEyes was added). After that, I have created one main project and imported the seven .veg projects. In this way, I will edit .veg projects, not the media files directly. I had never dealt with editing .veg projects and I am not confident if it could provide good results, since I will deal with seven .veg that sum around 14 hours of video...

b) The other way would be through rendering the video + new synced audio and creating seven new media file with same raw media settings. Then I would work with these new media files.

Thanks in advance,
Cadu

I would use the first option.

p.s. There is also DualEyes, which does exactly what you need - replace the original audio track inside media files

Thanks Aleksey!

I will go ahead with the experiments by using some .veg projects into the main project. I am supposing to handle a .veg or a raw media should produce the same output, isn't it? Would be any disadvantage on editing the .veg files instead of the media file (.m2ts) directly?

Ps.: It seems DualEyes generate a new file with replaced audio just to either .avi or .mov files.

Bye,
Cadu

Hi,

After some test I am considering that deal with .veg project as nested into a main project could not be a big deal.

Each time I open the main project (where are all the seven .veg projects in which video+audio were synced) there is a time to render the nested (.veg) files. It is already annoying. Besides, it is created a huge ".sfap0" file.

I am thinking to render the synced video+audio and then import as media to Vegas (not using anymore the nested .veg projects).

=> Considering this "rendering" scenario, is it possible to obtain an output file that has same quality (or very closer) of the original footage (AVHCD, .mts, 1920x720, 59.940p)?

I sync with plural eyes, and create a "synchmaster Veg" then drop it into my "editmaster" veg as a "clip" now the audio is "in synch" and I can create subclips or do whatever I want with the clip. No trouble to render out any size file.

Work's for me so far.
