Hi,

Vegas Pro 11 64 bit (build 683) is crashing when I use "titles & text". It seems to be related to use animation.

I tried 32 bit version and "titles & text" works great.

I am thinking on using 32 bit version, but since I began the project in 64 bit, I am not confident if some problem could appear.

May anyone know if it is possible to deal with same project in both 32 and 64 bit versions? Would be any warning?

Ps.: About the crash using "titles & text", is anyone experimenting that?

Thanks!!!

Yes doing so is quite possible, you will experience nothing weird.

Vegas 11 64bit crashes for almost everything for a variety of users.
And solutions for most of them wanes thin.

I regularly alternate between 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Vegas Pro 10 without any issues.

Thanks for the answers.
Now I am more confident about handling both 64 and 32 bit versions.
Related to that, a couple of issues have appeared. I would appreciate further help:

a) Since 32 bit version seems to be more stable than 64 bit (at least to me), I am thinking on using that instead 64 bit. After I have finished the project in 32 bit version, I would render the project in 64 bit version. Does it make sense? Or to create and render all project in 32 bit version would be better? Actually, I don't know exactly what are the advantages of the 64 bit version, but I have the impression that just the rendering would be better in 64 bit version. (I use a notebook Dell Vostro, 6GB, 1GBVideo, Intel i5 2.4GZ).

b)Considering the overall crashes of Vegas 11, would Vegas 10 be stable? I am thinking in the possibility of using Vegas 10 instead 11. Does it make sense?

I have been using Vegas Pro V10 32 bit since it came out and am now on the 10e revision. This has been VERY stable for me. I purchased but haven't yet installed the V11 based on all the varioius problems being reported by users on this forum.

a) I have done that, but I often encounter out of memory errors with 32 bit Vegas when rendering, so I switch to the 64 bit version just to render. Note that if you use some 3rd party plug-ins, they may not be available in 64 bit Vegas.

b) I am still on Vegas 10c because of OFX issues with 10e and 10e which are unique to my workflow. Vegas 11 has issues.

Hi Nigel,

Thanks for answering.

About Vegas 10 you mentioned "OFX issues". I am learning Vegas and I don't know what is OFX yet. Actually, I have searched in the Vegas manual about OFX and I couldn't find nothing. Could you give me a brief idea what is this? Would be other word/term in the manual I could look for?

Best,
Carlos

"10e revision. This has been VERY stable for me"
That is indeed so true Andrew, version 10.0e is what i
stick to and have no disappointment, like you, i purchased
Vegas 11, but i dont use it for obvious reasons.

Carlos, OFX is the infrastruture used by various plugins,
and has only recently been able to be used in Vegas, which
was a big step forward for Vegas.

I installed Vegas 10 and I am proceeding with some tests.

Besides the new GPU promises, I realized that the interfaces of media generator, video fx and transitions doesn't have the "search" feature in version 10.

Would it be expected any other noticeable differences between versions 10 and 11?

After this thread and many opinions, I am quite sure to go with version 10...

Thanks again,
Carlos

You can go to the Sony Creative Software website and look at the info for Vegas Pro 11. It should list "what's new" with this version (that you won't have in previous versions like 10).
