 | 2:1 transform question - using Boris, but need 3d tack motion also
by Stewart Bourke on May 16, 2012 at 11:34:55 pm |
Vegas 10 pro, 32 bit, Win XP, BCC7
I am using the 3d-source alpha mode in the track-motion settings to flip an video event through 180 deg - in effect mirroring it. I then wanted to use the light-wrap function in BCC7, but this needs to be done as a 2:1 transformation, which tried to convert my 3d track motion back to 2D - which means I loose my mirror.
Is there any other way to flip an event through 180 degrees (rotate 180 deg on the X axis), as it seems I cannot have 3d track motion, with a BCC 2:1 transformation?
Thanks

Try placing another video track above it, then make it a parent
track....(hoping you are familiar with parent/child tracks, if not
do a quick read up on it)....Then apply your Boris 2:1 transformation
on that parent track and see if it works.

Steve,
Unfortunately not. I do not appear to be able to have a 2:1 transform on a track, and to be able to rotate that track in 3d space. As soon as I made the track a child track of the empty track above it the light-wrap did not work. Even adding the light-wrap to the parent track did not work.
I'll check in with the guys in Boris - thanks for your help.

Instead of using 3d motion in Vegas, you may try using BCC DVE on the event, position & keyframe it the way you want then use lightwrap.

Well you could try what Guillaume said, since you already have
that filter in Boris.

Don't forget you can always use a nested project for the 3D Track Motion but I would just use DVE as Guillaume said. It's much easier.
