Insert Track From Trimmer

Is it possible to insert a track from the trimmer window between two tracks on the timeline?
Is it possible to swap a selected track on the timeline from a region in the trimmer window?

It's crazy jumping between editors at how the jargon changes. It looks like I'm using the wrong words to describe what I want to do.

To better explain my second question I'm trying to take a region selected in the trimmer window and have it replace a clip/event on the timeline.

Seems Vegas is a very mouse clicky, dragy droppy as compared to other editors like Premier where you can do alot of clip editing in the trimmer window before dropping it into the timeline. I see where Premier and FCP X have taken some ideas from Vegas with their new updates.

Oh I see... yea Vegas can do that. Make sure that you have the Enable Timeline Overwrite button enabled, then select your region and use Fit to Fill and Vegas will overwrite the events in that region with the selection in the trimmer.

I'm not sure what kind of "editing" you want to do in the trimmer. You just mark your in-point (I key) and out-point (O key) and then insert onto the timeline with A key (Add From Cursor) or Shift+A keys (Add To Cursor) in Vegas.

Yea, Vegas is by far the fastest streamlined workflow for video editing so why wouldn't they steal from the best. ;-)
