Make sure Split screen view is not enabled.
That icon is located above the preview window,
(square with a dot in it).

You're welcome...But before you upgrade, make sure you have
decent system requirements to run a new version
of Vegas and dont overload it with resource heavy plugins,
Why? because you may experience various issues and crashes.

John

Your laptop does not meet the minimum system requirements for SVP11 by a long way :-(

Microsoft® Windows Vista® 32-bit or 64-bit SP2, or Windows 7 32-bit or 64-bit
2 GHz processor (multicore or multiprocessor CPU recommended for HD or stereoscopic 3D)
500 MB hard-disk space for program installation
2 GB RAM (4 GB recommended)

My system specs: Intel i7 970, 12GB RAM, ASUS P6T, Vegas Pro 10e (x32/x64), Windows 7 x64 Ultimate, Vegas Production Assistant 1.0, VASST Ultimate S Pro 4.1, Neat Video Pro 2.6
