Import Vegas project into After Effects - is it still supposed to work?

Hi,
is it still possible to import vegas projects into After effects? Few versions ago i was able to save vegas project as .aaf and then import it into AE, but now after a lil break, im on vegas 11 32bit and AE cs5.5 64bit and when i try to save vegas project as .aaf the file gets created but has 0bytes and when i import it into AE, nothing gets imported. So im wondering if its still supposed to work or should i just forget it.
(for those wondering why i want that: im doing 3d animation + post + editing + sound effects on my own and not necesarily all in that order during a project, so for example i go back and forth between ae/veg and could use the synced sound effect work from vegas inside AE just for reference to help me for example with syncing additional visual effects and most importantly getting the "complete" feel of the video with sound while still being in AE able to change anything without having to render things again just to see/hear it updated in vegas with sounds)
Thanks in advance for telling me the truth (im prepared for the worst)
