Is your project set to 1280x720 PAR 1.000? That is the first step. Next right-click the event and choose
Properties and check the
Media tab to see if Vegas has the pixel aspect ratio set to 1.000 (assuming your source is really 1280x720 PAR 1.0). If not, change the PAR to 1.000 on the event and it should look fine.
