Rendering problem, please verify

I am having VBR adjustment problems with 10cPro. Is it just me? vegas 4, 8, 9, all adhere to the manual input for VBR for mpg2. 10cPro does not render out the average bitrate accurately which results in too large a file size. I have been calculating and adjusting VBR for DVD5 since ver4 and never had a problem. Can someone please verify this problem.....

Mainconcept says its Sony's front end to their encoder engine, therefore they can't give support.
Sony support doesn't seem to understand what the "Average Bitrate" concept in VBR means.

Please help, as Vegas10 is useless to me if I can't "render to size" as I have done in the past....

I agree with John that it is a bug so please report it.
A user on the Sony Vegas forum reported exactly the same problem a few days ago.
He did 4 identical renders of the same project and got file sizes of 3.9GB, 3.92GB, 4.35GB, & 4.40GB.
His solution was to go back to Pro 9 :(

DVD Architect already does this. Just render to AVI or M2T and drop in DVD Architect and it will fit to disc automatically. No guesswork.

Agreed, but that's what bit-rate calculators do. The VASST Ultimate S Pro plug-in has a bit-rate calculator built into the DVD tab but there are plenty of free ones on the internet. The problem with adding it to a script is that there is no way to programatically change the bit-rate when rendering so you would always have to go into the template and change it yourself. I agree it would be nice to have it done automatically.
