How can I get the audio track to skooch and not snap?

New format, fresh install of Sony Vegas Pro 9.0e. I want to do two camera tracks and a Zoom H4N audio track with VASST InfinityCAM. Lining up the clapper board spikes in front was easy. I turned off Quantize to Frames, turned off Snap and just lined them up.

On the back end, I went to skooch the H4N track up maybe a half a frame (just to make it right)...but it wants to jump the whole frame.

I don't get it. Quantize and Snap are off. What am doing wrong?

Norman,

Press the F8 key. It toggles 'Enable Snapping'

But it snaps a whole frame whether I have snapping enabled or not.

Turn off "Quantize to frames" under the Options menu (alt-F8)

Norman, that makes no sense whatsoever.
Have you tried enabling and then disabling both options one or more times?

Yes, but maybe I am doing something wrong (it would not be the first time :)

Please let me figure this thing with Noise Reduction in Sound Forge out, and then I will try to re-align the resultant Take 2's.

Mike, I absolutely agree it makes no sense. Yes, I have tried various combinations of enabling and disabling.

The H4N track slides smoothly. No issues at all. However, when I duplicate the audio track for Camera B Take 2, trim a second or so off of the end, and also turn both Snap and Quantas Airlines off, it still wants to jump by whole frames, and also snap the final 3-4 frames.

Should I report this as a bug on my hardware?
