I'm not sure that a script is going to help you here. Scripts can't alter time code. Can you explain what this means exactly? Are you trying to overlay a timecode window? Do you have your ruler set to drop-frame? I'm just not understanding what you need.

ok, first off, the reason i went with vegas pro 9 was the techs at sony said it was possible to write a script for this, the only other option i was told about was to purchase Avid media composer..... from my understanding, drop frame time coding, is a time code that is hidden to broad cast viewers, but can be seen on the equipment at the broadcast studio, showing hh:mm:ss:ff. I may not exactly be clear on my understanding of this, but i know it is a requirment....

OK so let's start with what scripts can do. A script can only automate what Vegas can already do. Kind of like a macro in Microsoft Word or Excel. Have the Sony techs explain to you, step-by-step how this can be done in Vegas without a script and then we can tell you how to write a script to possibly automate the process if what you need to do is visible to the Vegas Script API.

If you are unsure of what needs to be done to accomplish this, then you have no chance of writing a script to do it. As I said, scripts have no access to the source media or timecode.

Is your project being printed to tape?
That's the only time to be concerned about timecode.
If it's going to a pro deck, most (if not all) of them have built-in timecode generators that can be set to drop frame or non-drop frame mode.
Telling us why you need this feature will help us to give you the right answer.
