I have tracks of music, audio, sound fx in a large project. What's the best way to normalize a project? I have VASST UltimateS 4.1 but see nothing there.

You can right click on an audio event and under switches is normalize, if the event needs it. Don't believe you can normalize a whole project without rendering it first. You can add a compressor in the master effects bin to help get more volume without clipping too. Hope this helps, Danny

If you want to normalize all audio tracks together, can't you just import the project as a nested file into a new project and normalize the single audio track you get in the new project?

Look on the Audio tab of Ultimate S Pro to normalize audio:
Press Ctrl+A to select all of the events in your project.
Select the Audio tab in Ultimate S Pro
Press the Clear Page button on the top button bar
Under Audio Event Properties check Change Event Properties
Press the Reset button to reset all properties to ignore
Check Normalize twice to enable it
Press the Apply button
All of your audio events will have their normalize property turned on and be normalized by Vegas.
It is also a good idea to place the Wave Hammer FX on your master audio bus. Select the Master for 16-bit preset and adjust the Threshold on the Volume Maximizer tab to your liking.

Normalizing may or may not be what you want. Normalize simply raises the volume of the track until the loudest part is zero db. A better approach might be to:
1. Create a bus
2. Assign all audio tracks that you want "normalized" to that bus
3. Add the Wave Hammer fx to the new bus
4. Apply the Wave Hammer adjusting as necessary to get the desired "normalization".
