vegas 8 pro error on long renders
by bill williams on Nov 4, 2009 at 10:45:35 pm

G'day all

Just started using vegas 8 pro for my .mts files.
I find when I add about 20, 30 second clips and use the main concept h.264 all comes out fine after adding dissolves and slight sharpening. However if I add about 80 or 90 clips, using the same parameters, I get the message

"The following pins failed to find a connectable filter" C:\downloads\Untitled.mp4::Output

Media Type 0:

Any advice appreciated.

It looks like you either have a bad file in there or Vegas Pro 8.0 can't handle 90+ MTS clips. Make sure you have the latest updates for Vegas Pro 8.0. There were problems with Vegas 7 and the number of M2T files on the timeline and it was fixed in Vegas Pro 8. Perhaps Vegas Pro 8 has the same issue with MTS files? I would download the trial of Vegas Pro 9.0 and see if you can reproduce the problem. Each version of Vegas gets better and better at handling the latest HD formats.

Thankyou John
I think you have nailed it actually.
The only conclusion I could come to was the number of files was 2 great.
I will do as you suggest and try a trial 9 version.

Many thanks for taking the time to respond.
