Vegas Error When Rendering mpeg-2 custom resolution
by Michael Menefee on Nov 2, 2009 at 3:01:17 pm

Good day, and thaks in advance for any help you can lend here.

I have a project for a client that needs to be 1360x768 for some monitors they use. I used After Effects to create the video but it is limited on mpeg-2 settings and does not allow custom resolutions. So, I use Vegas to render the final file in the correct package, etc.

But when I go to render with Vegas using mpeg-2 at 1360x768, I get an error.

To my knowledge, in the 5+ years I've used Vegas, I have never had this issue before. I have always been able to render out in any resolution I chose.

Any idea on why this is happening?

Using Windows 7 (RC) and Vegas 8.0b

It depends on the codec... MPEG2 will not allow this odd resolution. You must conform to one of the MPEG2 standard resolutions. HDV 1280x720 is as close as you can get with MPEG2.

You might want to use MPEG4 instead.
