Rendered video -- "ghosts" of images when sped up

Hey;
I use the speed up tool fairly often in sony vegas (9, pro) and I like it just fine without the fancy blurriness and "ghosts" that trail after the image after it renders - again, this is for when you increase the speed of a clip. I actually really hate the blurriness and it messes up how I want my end product to look. Does anyone know how to make it so that the sped up video looks as it does in the project preview, when rendered? Any settings I can change to stop it from blurring/ghosting my sped up images?
If you need it to be explained more I can try! I just really need to find out how to correct this.
If anyone is familiar with windows movie maker, that's the old one I had been using 3 years before vegas, and it never added the blurritude when being sped up. I can create samples if anyone needs a visualization of what I'm talking about.
And if it's been talked about before, I'd love it if you could point me in the direction of the answer.
Thanks much.
